Planning Your Visit to Good’s Furniture

When you are planning a trip to Good’s Furniture, a little forethought will ensure you get the most out of your Good’s experience. Creating a loose itinerary will help you organize your trip so you can take advantage of the many things that make Good’s Furniture such a unique destination.

Below is a suggested schedule which includes many of our most popular activities. Naturally, you should arrange your schedule and activities to suit your personal preferences. Stress-free fun is a priority, so your itinerary should be a flexible one.

Furniture Shopping

Many of our guests choose to arrive early in the day to start with the main attraction: shopping the 12 buildings of our showroom for furniture pieces. We open at 9 a.m., so come spend the morning looking over our huge selection of tasteful furnishings for every room, with something for everyone. We have furniture for your living room, dining room, bedroom, nursery, or home office, along with home decor accessories and even pet furniture — all offered at everyday low prices.

If you need a little time to think about the pieces you’ve seen and how they might fit into your home, you’re in luck — you can relax a bit while you make up your mind. Of course, feel free to ask for the help of our no-pressure team at any time if you need any assistance.

Lunch at Wine Cellar Restaurant

Be sure to head to the Wine Cellar Restaurant for lunch. The Wine Cellar serves a variety of delicious gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts, all freshly made by Chef Kathy and her crew and affordably priced. Try European-style house favorites like Kathy’s Reuben Loaf, Hungarian Goulash, Chicken Salad Crepe, Krautkäse, or Liptauer. The Wine Cellar serves the full menu from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and serves desserts from the counter until we close at 6 p.m.

Browse Shops in Market Square

After lunch, spend some time browsing the shops at Market Square, located in the lower level of Good’s East. Our selection of apparel and accessories for men and women, as well as other gift items, greeting cards, luggage, housewares, and more, is sourced from both American and international makers.

Refreshment Break

An afternoon of shopping culminates in a return to the Wine Cellar Restaurant for a refreshment break. Indulge in a freshly made dessert, such as our Viennese Apple Strudel, carrot cake, cookies, gourmet ice cream, or one of Kathy’s delectable homemade pies. Give yourself an afternoon boost with a cup of coffee, or relax by sampling our selection of fine beer (including our own Prairie Chicken Ale) or wine, including bottles of tempting boutique wines.

Relaxation and Dinner in Town

Now that the shopping is done, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing. Visit the Old Mill Pond and see the sights of the city. Eat dinner at one of Kewanee’s fine local restaurants, located not far from our central location downtown. Ask any member of our team to get the most up-to-date recommendations for fun and delicious local eateries. At the end of the evening, you can return to Good’s bed and breakfast for a good night’s sleep.

Stay the Night at the B&B

If you don’t have evening plans, your trip to Good’s can wrap up with a stay at our bed and breakfast. Sleep comfortably in one of our pleasant queen or king suites, and wake up to a complimentary continental breakfast of homemade pastries, fresh fruit, homemade granola, and more. You will leave our hospitality relaxed, refreshed, and happily anticipating the arrival of your new furniture at your home.

Of course, you’re free to do as many or as few of these things as you’d like when you visit. Whatever it is you come to Good’s Furniture to do, we’ll make sure it’s a productive and relaxing experience.
